About Cardsweb
beck
beck: photogenic moment, 1979

Cardsweb is the independent Woking FC website. It was invented in a large test tube in a remote Canadian outpost in 1996 - at which point, none of its founding fathermothers (Anthony Page, Beck Kingsnorth and Mike Stirk) had any idea whatsoever about how to make web things.

In 1998 Anthony stepped down from his position as webfathermonkey and asked Beck and Mike to take over the reins on a permanent basis. Which they did. Two years later, Beck redesigned the site and continued to look after it on an editorial basis until at the end of the 2004/05 season she stepped down from the role and asked for someone else to take over. That person is Mick, previously known as colinstrainers or CT who takes care of Cardsweb along with Rob, who runs Cardsweb's infamous prediction league and statistics section, and other contributors including Gareth Heighes, Steve Tervet and Mark Doyle.

For around ten seasons, Cardsweb has been sponsored by Scattergoods and we're very grateful for their continued support.

We have always been a fans' site, and there are plenty of opportunities to have your say. There's the very active Cardsboard, Man of the Match Voting for every game along with the infamous Prediction League. We welcome suggestions and input from anyone and everyone, and articles from various supporters are collected in the vast archive that is Moaners' Corner. If you would like to contribute anything to this or put yourself forward to write a match report or have a question or comment about the site you can email Mick or go to Cardsweb's Contact page.
