Thanks to SCR Commentary and Andy Avery for the details on this one.
Frank Gray made a couple of changes after the draw at Exeter City, bringing back Marvin Morgan for Liam Marum and with Bradley Quamina not travelling following the birth of his son, Matt Pattison stepped into centre midfield with Damian Batt starting on the right side of midfield. The bench also included Giuseppe Sole.
However, it was the home side that started the better, dominating the first five minutes and winning two corners early on and forcing Bunce to make two good clearances before Damien Reeves hit an ambitious long-range effort, which flew comfortably over Worner's crossbar. The Cards replied moments later when Norville unleashed a powerful volley from outside the area, which flew just wide. The run of long shots continued when Pattison tried his luck but despite a deflection it was easily gathered by keeper' Curtis Aspden.
On eleven minutes, Worner smashed a clearance into Steve Torpey and the striker reacted quickly but put his shot wide of the target. Morgan caused problems at the other end winning a free kick, which was duly driven in by Green but easily blocked. On 16 minutes, Reeves roamed forward with nobody closing him down allowing him a long-range striker, which Worner did well to save.
On 20 minutes though Farsley took the lead when McNiven was allowed to stride forward from the back and he found Craig Bentham who took his opportunity with aplomb calmly passing the ball into the corner of Worner's net. The home side continued to threaten and Worner had to pull of a string of saves before the half hour mark. First he got down to stop Torpey's effort from 18 yards and then kept out another attempt by Reeves before Bentham capitalise on a poor header from Lorraine but Worner was on hand once again to keep Farsley at bay.
Woking responded quickly and Morgan made something from nothing when his effort from outside the area was terrifically saved by Ashton to keep the home side in front. Not long after and Norville looked to have been impeded when trying to get clear but nothing was given. On 37 minutes, Worner was equal to a Rory Prendergast's free kick which was goalbound until the young keeper' tipped it over but he could do nothing about the resultant corner. With the Cards defence at sixes and sevens Reeves took advantage and converted from close range after the young keeper' had parried his first effort.
In the 43rd minute it looked like Morgan had pulled one back following a corner. His effort was just cleared off the line by Geroges Santo's although he was convinced it had gone over the assistant referee didn't budge and then from a free kick Morgan bundled it in from close range only for it to be disallowed rather dubiously for offside.
The game was all but over early in the second half when in the 50th minute Torpey turned Lorraine in the area, following good work from Prendergast on the left, and fired it into the back of the net. Gray made a double substitution bringing on Lambu and Sole for Ruby and Green in an attempt to make a difference. Lorraine made a horrid backpass moments later and Worner had to scamper back to keep it out. Sole replied with a long-range shot which went just wide.
There was more huff and puff from the Cards but with no end product and as they came forward the game opened up with chances at each end. Morgan drilled wide from a Batt cross on 70 minutes but moments later and Reeves took on and beat Lorraine again only for his cross to go across the six yard box. However, the match was all but over with Farsley fully deserving their win where as for the Cards it was a game to forget.
