How You Can Help

Cancer can affect anyone, anywhere - so in a way, it's everybody's concern. Please help me to help fund vital research into the disease so that we can find a cure faster.

Recently, a girl in America managed to write off her debts simply by asking people for money. Amazingly, she managed to raise $20,000 and paid off her credit card debts thanks to the generosity of strangers. I figured that if she can raise that much for herself, then surely I can raise a fraction of that amount for charity!

Your help would be appreciated, however small. There are several ways in which you can get involved:

Sponsorship
The most obvious one! I'm trying to get as many sponsors as I can, and your support - whether it's a few pennies or a few pounds - will make a difference. If you are someone I see regularly then I will be waving one of several sponsor forms in your face quite soon, but if I don't see you often or if I don't know you, you can contact me with a pledge via this site. I will then forward details of how you can send me your sponsorship money (cheques are payable to Cancer Research UK and not to me - don't worry!). If you would like to sponsor me, please get in touch via email or alternatively leave a message in my guestbook.

Events
To support this challenge there will be several events in the coming weeks, including a pub crawl in the New Year (location to be decided in January: watch out - you might bump into me!), a fundraising day at Woking Football Club (the date is yet to be set) and a non-uniform day at Hurst Park School. I am also hoping to run a few competitions, too - and I'm on the lookout for prizes...

Companies
I am writing to companies in the Guildford, Godalming and Cranleigh areas to see if they are willing to donate prizes or money to help the cause. Are you part of a company that has something to donate? It could be anything, no matter how small. If you think you can help, please let me know. In return, I can offer plenty of free publicity on this site and I'm also hoping to get coverage in the local press - any companies that help me out will get a mention!
